Sustainable solutions

The worldwide efforts aimed at cutting energy consumption and lowering CO2 emissions gain in importance. For this reason, more and more emphasis is placed on the efficient use of energy in buildings which – worldwide – represent more than 40 percent of energy usage.

VAV systems and intelligent controls that communicates with all 3rd party systems from Barcol-Air | Air Distribution is a pioneer in this field. We play an active role in major standards committees and green building councils and use our in-depth know-how to develop new applications. The Induction VAV green comfort solution already satisfy the requirements of energy efficiency. The energy saving functions provided by this VAV system cut energy consumption by up to 80 percent without sacrificing comfort. We also attach great importance to intelligent software to control our systems. The latest versions of the Belimo with KNX communication and Schneider Electric controllers give great consideration to these trends.

In addition to our consistent orientation toward energy-efficient products and systems, we have done much research on developing the Air Flow Measuring Stations and "Air Trac®" sytem. The emphasis is placed on fast, simple, and safe handling from planning to installation, from commissioning and operation through to service.

Decades of experience and our comprehensive know-how from more than 40 countries form the basis for the development of innovative products and systems. In pursuing this target, Barcol-Air works closely together with its sister company HC RT who have major experience in developing, building and intergrating Building Management Sytems (BMS). But our final objective is still the same: to deliver products, systems, and tools that offer you as much added value as possible, and to simplify the cooperation with us.

Most products as supplied by Barcol-Air are maintenance free and energy efficient, which contributes to green & comfortable buildings, certified by green building assessors such as:

Green building assessors

for a greener future

BREEAM is a leading sustainability assessment method for master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings. It addresses a number of lifecycle stages such as New Construction, Refurbishment and In-Use. Globally there are more than 551,000 BREEAM certified developments, and almost 2,252,800 buildings registered for assessment since it was first launched in 1990. The BREEAM method is mostly applied at the continent of Europe.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is just as BREEAM a leading green building certification assessor. They rate newly build buildings on the following points: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Material & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, etc. The LEED method is mostly applied at North- and Latin-America and the Middle East.

The WELL Building Standard™ is an evidence based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring the performance of building features that impact health and well-being. Different from LEED and BREEAM, WELL focuses more on human health and well-being inside the working space.
