The concept for this project was to establish a structure that emphasizes the richness and diversity of the Islamic heritage. At the building's core is Islamic calligraphy, inscribed on almost all aspects of the building's surface.

The project's scope of work consist of a 5-storey university located at Ar-Rayyan, Qatar. Designed by Mangera Yvars Architects Ltd, it houses both an academic facility and a mosque which, with a capacity of 1,800 people, is one of the largest in Qatar.

HBKU offers two postgraduate degree programs and also houses several distinguished research centers that bring together scholars and thought leaders from around the world.

2,000 tons of steel were used for the two large minarets that extend out of one side of the project, rising up 90m in the direction of Mecca. 
 
The mosque rests on five pillars which represent the five pillars of Islam and has the capacity to hold up to 1,800 people in the indoor prayer halls and 500 more in the outdoor courtyard. The building has two basement levels and five floors that consist of classrooms, faculty offices, exhibition space and an auditorium, covering an area of nearly three hectares. 
 
The project was completed on time and within budget. 
  • 400pcs of single wall VAV terminals complete with multi stage electric reheat coils.

  • All VAV terminals are fully equipped with Honeywell BACNet™ CentraLine™ controllers

A special factory acceptence test was conducted and supervised by Astad (client representative)
